Abstract
Vertebral artery dissection is known to have a broad spectrum of clinical presentations, including isolated headache or neck pain, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, and even asymptomatic cases. Among those, headache and neck pain are the hallmarks of vertebral artery dissection, but the features of the headache are variable and sometimes nonspecific, mimicking primary headache disorders. Here, we report a rare case of spontaneous vertebral artery dissection presenting with unilateral stabbing headache only, mimicking primary stabbing headache.
